We want everyone to feel safe when using the Virtual Community (from now on #SoydeMijas). For this reason, we have written a set of Community Rules, which are set out below.

These policies will help you understand what type of content can be shared in the Virtual Community, and which can be reported and removed. Given the diversity of our global community, you should be aware that there may be things that dislike or annoy you but do not violate our Community Standards.

In cases where we believe there is a real risk of physical harm or direct threats to public safety, we remove content, disable accounts, and collaborate with local authorities.

Direct threats: How we help people who feel threatened in the Virtual Community

We carefully review reports of bullying language to identify serious threats to public and personal safety. We eliminate credible threats of injury to people. We also remove certain threats of theft, vandalism, or other financial damage.

We can take into account factors such as a person's physical location or public visibility when determining whether a threat is credible. Threats to people living in regions where the situation is unstable or where violent acts frequently occur can be considered more serious.

Self-harm: How we help prevent self-harm and suicidal behavior.

We do not allow the promotion of self-harm or suicidal behavior. We work with organizations around the world to offer help to people in need. Content that encourages suicide or any other type of self-harm, including eating disorders and self-mutilation, is not allowed. We do not consider body modification to be a form of self-harm. We also remove content that identifies victims or survivors of self-harm or suicide with the intention of attacking them, either seriously or in jest. However, it is possible to share information about these behaviors that does not encourage them.

Dangerous organizations. Types of organizations that are prohibited in the Virtual Community

Organizations that are involved in the following activities cannot be present in the Virtual Community

Terrorist activities,

Organized crime activities.

We also remove content that expresses support for groups that are involved in the criminal or criminal behaviors listed above. No demonstrations of support or praise for the leaders of these same organizations or justifications for their violent activities are allowed.

We welcome discussions and comments on these general topics, but ask for sensitivity towards victims of violence and discrimination.

Bullying and harassment: How we act against bullying and harassment.

We do not tolerate bullying or harassment. You can speak freely about issues and people of public concern, but we remove content that appears to be intentionally directed at individuals with the intention of degrading or embarrassing them. This content includes, but is not limited to:

Pages where individuals are identified and shamed

Images altered to humiliate individuals

Photos or videos of physical bullying posted to embarrass the victim

Personal information shared to blackmail or harass people

Repeated sending of friend requests or messages to people who do not want to receive them

With "individuals" we mean all those people who are not relevant or of public interest due to their actions or public professions.

Attacks on public figures: What protection do public figures receive in the Virtual Community

We allow open and critical discussions about people who appear in the news or who have a very wide audience for their profession or for certain activities. However, we remove credible threats to public figures, as well as language that incites hatred towards them, in the same way that we do with individuals.

Criminal activities: How we manage reports of criminal activities in the Virtual Community

It is forbidden to use the Virtual Community to facilitate or organize criminal activities that cause injury or material damage to people, companies or animals, as well as economic damage to people or companies.

In cases where we believe there is a real risk of injury or direct threats to public safety, we contact local authorities.

You are also prohibited from celebrating the crimes you have committed. However, we do allow the use of the Virtual Community to discuss or defend the legality of criminal activities, as well as to refer to them in a humorous or satirical tone.

Exploitation and sexual violence: How we combat exploitation and sexual violence in the Virtual Community

We remove content that includes threats, or that promotes sexual exploitation or violence, including sexual exploitation of minors and sexual assaults. In order to protect victims, we also remove photos or videos showing incidents of sexual violence and images shared as revenge or without the permission of the people in them.

Our definition of sexual exploitation includes solicitation of sexual material, any sexual content involving minors, threats to share intimate images, and offers of sexual services. Whenever appropriate, we will forward this content to local authorities. Offerings of sexual services include prostitution, escort services, sexual massages, and recorded sexual activities.

Regulated products.

Individuals may not buy or sell prescription drugs, marijuana, firearms, or ammunition, and they may not trade in these items. If you publish an offer to purchase or sell alcohol, tobacco or adult products, we hope that you comply with current legislation in this regard and that you take special care when determining the audience for this content. We do not allow you to use payment tools from the Virtual Community to buy or sell regulated products on our platform.

Encourage respectful behavior.

People use the Virtual Community to share their experiences, initiatives, ideas, projects, etc. and educate others about issues that interest them. This means that you may encounter opinions that are very different from yours, which we undoubtedly believe can lead to important conversations about difficult issues. However, as a way of trying to balance the needs, safety and interests of such a diverse community, we may remove certain types of content.

Nude content is sometimes shared for a specific purpose, such as awareness campaigns or art projects. We restrict the exhibition of nudes to avoid that certain sectors of our global community that show a special sensitivity towards them may feel bad; in particular, because of their cultural context or age. In order to treat everyone fairly and respond to reports quickly, it is critical to have policies that our global teams can easily and consistently apply when reviewing content. As a result, our policies can sometimes be more direct than we would like and restrict content shared for legitimate purposes. We continually work to improve the evaluation of this content and the application of our standards.

We eliminate photographs that show the genitals or the buttocks in their entirety and in a direct way. We also restrict some images of women's breasts if the nipple is visible, but we always allow photos of women who are breastfeeding or showing them with scars from a mastectomy. We also authorize photographs of paintings, sculptures, and other works of art showing nude figures. The restrictions on the display of nudity and sexual activity also apply to digital content, unless such content is published for educational, humorous or satirical purposes. Explicit images of sexual intercourse are prohibited. We can also remove descriptions of sexual acts that are too graphic.

Language that incites hatred.

The Virtual Community eliminates the language that incites hatred, that is, all content that directly attacks people based on the following aspects:

sexual orientation

sex, gender or sexual identity

serious disabilities or illnesses

The Virtual Community does not accept organizations or people who promote hatred towards these protected groups. As with all of our policies, we are counting on our community to report this type of content.

Users of the Virtual Community can question ideas, institutions and practices. These types of conversations can foster discussion and greater understanding. Sometimes content is shared with language that incites hatred towards another person with the intention of raising awareness or educating others about this type of language. In that case, we hope the purpose is clearly stated so that we can better understand why it was shared.

While we strive to remove hateful content, we also provide you with tools to avoid viewing materials that are tasteless or otherwise offensive. You can unfollow a person or conversation topic. You can also use the Virtual Community to inform and educate your community

Violence and graphic content.

The Virtual Community has long been a place where people can share their experiences and raise awareness about important problems. Sometimes these experiences and issues include violence and graphic images that generate public concern or interest, such as related to human rights violations or terrorist attacks. In many cases, when people share this type of content, they do it to disapprove or raise awareness about its existence. We eliminate those explicit images that are shared out of sadism or to celebrate or extol violence.

When users share something in the Virtual Community, we hope that they do so responsibly and that they also choose carefully who can see it. We also ask that the public be warned about what they are going to see if it contains explicit violence.

Protect your account and personal information.

We strive to protect your account and your personal information. By joining the Virtual Community, you agree to use your real name and identity. You will not be able to post the personal information of others without their permission. Learn more about how we protect your information.

The Virtual Community is presented as a place open to all the inhabitants of Mijas, including foreign residents who live in our community. We are a cosmopolitan virtual community.

The Virtual Community represents the beginning of a new generation of Social Networks where what predominates is the geographical location and its belonging. As all the users live in the same geographical area, not only is there online intercommunication but it is easier to meet, meet and interact to improve Mijas and our quality of life.
